Common questions

Does Exhale send notifications?

Exhale never sends engagement push notifications. You can optionally enable one daily local reminder from Settings — it lives on your device, fires at the time you picked, and we never see whether you opened it. That's the only notification Exhale will ever do.

Is my breathing data stored anywhere?

No. The press itself is never recorded — not on your device, not on our server. There is no timestamp, no duration, no count, no log. The button is not instrumented.

How do I delete my data?

Open Settings inside the app and tap "Delete account & data" — that wipes the local store and deletes your server-side record. You can also email hello@useexhale.com and we'll delete the record within 30 days.

Why no streaks or history?

Streaks turn a relief tool into a guilt tool. If you don't press for a week, that's fine; the button doesn't need to shame you back. A history surface would also imply the press is data worth keeping — it isn't. The button is the product; the run is the entire experience.

Is Exhale a substitute for a doctor or therapist?

No. Exhale is a general-purpose relaxation cue — one minute of guided breathing. For anything medical, psychiatric, or ongoing, please talk to a qualified professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

I felt dizzy or lightheaded during a press.

Stop the press immediately and rest. Slow paced breathing is well-tolerated by most people, but for some it can cause lightheadedness or other effects. If it happens repeatedly, talk to a doctor before using the app again, and please email so we can learn from it.

I have feedback or a feature idea.

Send it. hello@useexhale.com goes straight to the maker. Every email is read.

The app is broken.

Email with: what you tapped, what you expected, what happened, your iOS version, and your Exhale version (Settings → About). Screenshots help.
